About What you'll learn

Integrating IFS and EMDR Therapy: A Three-Day In-Person Workshop with Dr. Daphne Fatter

A rare UK training opportunity for trauma professionals

I am thrilled to announce a transformative three-day workshop led by Dr. Daphne Fatter, a leading international authority on the integration of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR Therapy.

Based in Texas, USA, Dr. Fatter is a renowned clinician, author, and  speaker at EMDRIA and IFS Institute conferences. This marks her first-ever in-person training in the UK for members of the EMDR UK Association.

Workshop Overview

Drawing from her recent book, “Integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) into EMDR Therapy: The Step-by-Step Guide to Complex Trauma Recovery,” Dr. Fatter will guide participants through the Integrated EMDR and IFS Model — a pioneering framework that helps clients with complex trauma navigate healing more safely and effectively.

Through teaching, case examples, and supervised practicums, you’ll learn how to:

  • Use parts mapping for stabilisation and treatment planning
  • Befriend protector parts and gain consent to proceed with reprocessing
  • Navigate blocked processing by strengthening the Self-to-part connection
  • Apply somatic and cognitive techniques across all eight EMDR phases
  • Integrate IFS and EMDR to tailor trauma treatment for each unique internal system

About Integrative  EMDR Events

Not an events organiser by trade — just an Integrative EMDR therapist passionate about bringing live training back to life.

My name is Stuart - In the early days of my EMDR journey, one of the highlights of each year was when leaders in our field travelled from the United States to share their insights at events. I immediately think of Parnell, Paulsen, Gomez, and others who inspired so many of us.

When lockdown hit, in-person training came to a halt and has been slow to re-emerge. I’ve always found that connecting with colleagues over coffee and biscuits was one of the best parts of CPD events — a welcome antidote to the isolation that can come with our profession.,

During 2024, I began searching across the Atlantic for highly regarded speakers with proven expertise in both EMDR and professional presenting — people willing to travel to the UK and share their knowledge in person. My first event, held in May 2025 at the University of Greenwich in London, featured Dr Kendhal Hart, and its success confirmed how valuable these opportunities are for our community.

With that in mind, I plan to make these events an annual tradition. I hope you’ll enjoy the offerings for 2025 and beyond, and that they’ll provide inspiration, learning, and connection for us all.
